Workforce Procurement Themes Shaping 2027

Workforce Procurement Themes Shaping 2027

First programme or fifth iteration? ProcureCon Total Talent 2027 is built for both

While building the 2027 agenda, we held research calls with leaders running some of the most mature contingent workforce programmes we know. One point was conveyed: the room is mixed in terms of maturity, and both groups want the same thing. Content that meets them where they are, so that’s how we’ve built it.

Tell us where you are. We’ll point you to the right room.

Before the event, we’re sending every leader a short form. It asks three things:

  • the challenges you’re facing
  • the solutions you’re looking for
  • how mature your programme is today

We use your answers to recommend the sessions and networking that fit you best.

The keynotes bring everyone together. From there, the programme splits by maturity:

  • Track A is for teams setting up or rebuilding a programme. Day 1 covers building your strategy from the ground up. Day 2 covers getting risk, compliance and cost under control.
  • Track B is for teams scaling what they’ve built. Day 1 covers future-proofing mature programmes. Day 2 moves on to outcome-led sourcing and running global RFPs across markets.
  • Day 2 topic tables are grouped by maturity:
    • Building Blocks
    • Connecting the Pieces
    • Optimising and Leading

Building your first programme?

Start in Track A. In the Unlocking Your External Workforce panel, JuanJose Castillo (Avery Dennison), Mihaela Tapu (Lundbeck), and Ane Ferreira (AstraZeneca) get honest about year one; the early wins, the costly decisions and what can safely wait.

Then hear Slava Smirnikhin (Maersk) on unifying platforms and processes for global control. You’ll also get a practical framework for sending every talent request to the right channel, first time.

Already scaling?

You might be mid-change. All three mature programmes we spoke to were; The brief has shifted towards value and efficiency, not cutting heads. And AI is pushing demand towards niche skills.

Track B is where that focuses with Amit Chitanand (The Magnum Ice Cream Company) speaking to aligning suppliers, data and tech through a carve-out. Malgosia Grochowska and Carina Brockers (Cargill) and Tomas Silinikas (Girteka) will then discuss on why time-to-fill keeps stretching despite layoffs, and how to go nearshore and offshore without losing control.
